Monday’s edition of In Focus featured visits from Manhattan Parks and Recreation, Riley County’s WIC office, and the 1st Infantry Division’s Brig. Gen. Niave Knell.

The first half of the show, we were joined by Interim Parks and Rec Director Wyatt Thompson. Thompson reflected on a recent special meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and gave a preview of the afternoon’s meeting. He also went over the department’s plans for recreation offerings this Fall.

Amid some technical difficulties, we were joined by WIC Supervisor Kaylyn Speth and Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Earlisha Killen in light of National Breastfeeding Month to highlight their office’s observance and the services they provide.

The program closed with a conversation with Brig. Gen. Niave Knell, the first woman to serve as deputy commanding general of the 1st Infantry Division.
