Officers filed a report for theft in the 700 block of Griffith Dr. in Manhattan on August 24, 2022, around 7:30 a.m. A 41-year-old male was listed as the victim when it was reported his white and silver Trek hybrid bicycle and a blue pull-behind child trailer were stolen overnight. Officers filed a report for rape in Manhattan on August 24, 2022, around 11:15 a.m. An 18-year-old female was listed as the victim and two males were listed as the suspects. Due to the nature of the crime, no further information will be released.
Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Village Dr. and Anderson Ave. in Manhattan on August 24, 2022, around 4:30 p.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 2009 Hyundai Elantra driven by Gregory West, 64, of Manhattan, and a 2018 Jeep Wrangler driven by Jaord Willard, 34, of Ogden were involved in a crash. West and a passenger of his car were transported to Via Christi for treatment of minor injuries.
Officers filed a report for burglary in the 900 block of Sunset Ave. in Manhattan on August 24, 2022, around 9:45 p.m. A 36-year-old female was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown male suspect broke into her unoccupied residence and stole a Prada purse and approximately $5,800 cash. Brayln Marsh, 17, of Junction City was arrested in Junction City on August 11, 2022, in connection to June and July shootings in the 700 block of Colorado St. in Manhattan. Marsh was arrested by the Junction City Police Department on his Riley County District Court warrant for two counts each of attempted first-degree murder, attempted aggravated assault, criminal discharge of a weapon, and one count of criminal threat. The charges stem from two separate incidents where Marsh allegedly shot multiple rounds from outside into the same occupied house, once on June 20, 2022, around 5:45 a.m., and again on July 11, 2022, around 1:15 a.m. Multiple individuals were in the home at the time of the shootings but no injuries were reported in either incident. Marsh is currently being held at the North Central Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Center Facility on a total bond of $750,000. *There was a delay in the arrest being reported due to technical errors between the two agencies. Please also note the bond of $1,500,000 in the original arrest report sent out is incorrect.
