Thursday’s edition of In Focus featured guests from K-State’s Institute for Civic Discourse and Democracy, the Huck Boyd Center for Community Media, and Pawnee Mental Health Services.

The first half of the show welcomed Dr. Colene Lind and Dr. Samuel Mwangi, professors in the A.Q. Miller School of Media and Communication. Lind, director of the ICDD, and Mwangi, director of the Huck Boyd Center, discussed the mutual goals of the two organizations and how they’re collaborating in outreach and research efforts. They’re hosting a community conversation centered on demystifying mental health, that’s planned November 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the K-State Student Union West Ballroom.

The program continued with a visit by Pawnee’s Marketing and Development Manager Diane Hinrichs. Hinrichs talked about the upcoming Driving the Dream fundraising event, in its 4th year. The benefit includes both online and in-person auctions, with the main event scheduled for October 13 at 5:30 p.m. in the Midwest Dream Car Collection.
