    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law and in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 400 block of N. 4th St. in Manhattan on September 10, 2022, around 6:00 p.m. Strasser Landing LLC and a 21-year-old female were listed as the victims when it was reported an unknown male suspect threw a brick through an apartment window. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Offices responded to the report of a battery at O’Malley’s Bar on September 10, 2022, around 9:00 p.m. It was reported a 44-year-old male and 44-year-old female punched 21- and 50-year-old males while at the establishment. Kelly and Travis Poland, both 44, both of Colorado were arrested in connection for battery. Both were issued bonds of $750 and are no longer confined at the time of this report.

    Officers responded to the report of a battery near the intersection of N. 10th and Thurston Streets in Manhattan on September 11, 2022, around 3:30 a.m. A 23-year-old male was listed as the victim when it was reported three or four unknown male suspects tackled and punched him. The male victim was transported to Via Christi for treatment of facial lacerations and scrapes. The incident remains under investigation.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 1200 block of N. 10th St. in Manhattan on September 11, 2022, around 12:00 p.m. Bryx Renovations was listed as the victim when it was reported construction and painting tools were stolen from a property being worked on. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,630. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 500 block of Osage St. in Manhattan on September 11, 2022, around 3:00 p.m. A 19-year-old male was listed as the victim when it was reported his Trek Marlin bicycle was stolen. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $670. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash in the 200 block of Fort Riley Blvd. in Manhattan on September 11, 2022, around 5:15 p.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Will Cravens, 22, of Wamego had lost control while braking a curve and hit a curb causing the motorcycle to roll. Cravens was transported to Via Christi for treatment of arm, wrist, ankle, and leg injuries.
