    Wildcats in the NFL – Week 6

    MANHATTAN, Kan. (Kansas State Athletics) – Each week throughout the 2022 season, k-statesports.com recaps the action for the 14 former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.

    Timmy Horne, DL – Atlanta Falcons
    Horne, a rookie free agent who made the active roster out of training camp, saw time on 15 defensive snaps and a pair of special teams plays in Atlanta’s 28-14 home win over San Francisco. In six games this year, Horne has four tackles among his 105 defensive snaps. The Falcons evened their record at 3-3 this year, and they travel to face Cincinnati on Sunday.

    Elijah Lee, LB – Kansas City Chiefs
    Lee was sent back to the Chiefs’ practice squad following their week 5 game. He has seen time in five games this year and totaled six tackles and a fumble recovery. The Chiefs lost at home to Buffalo, 24-20, to drop to 4-2 on the season, and Kansas City plays at San Francisco on Sunday.

    Tyler Lockett, WR – Seattle Seahawks
    Lockett carded his 93rd-career start and totaled two catches for 17 yards to help Seattle earn a 19-9 home win over Arizona. In six games this season, Lockett has 34 catches for 423 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Seahawks evened their record at 3-3 prior to traveling to Los Angeles to face the Chargers on Sunday.

    Cornelius Lucas, OL – Washington Commanders
    In his eighth season, Lucas earned his second-consecutive start at right tackle and was in for all 57 offensive snaps in Washington’s 12-7 Thursday-night win at Chicago. In six games this year, Lucas has been in for 133 offensive snaps. The Commanders are now 2-4 this season, and they host Green Bay on Sunday.

    AJ Parker, DB – Detroit Lions
    Parker and the Lions were off last week. Detroit, which is 1-4 this year, plays at Dallas on Sunday.

    Byron Pringle, WR – Chicago Bears
    Pringle, who is in his first season in Chicago, was placed on injured reserve on September 27. The Bears suffered a 12-7 home loss to Washington on Thursday night to fall to 2-4 this year, and they play at New England on Monday night.

    D.J. Reed, DB – New York Jets
    In his fifth NFL season and first with the Jets, Reed registered his 30th-career start and came away with three tackles in New York’s 27-10 win at Green Bay. In six games this year, Reed has 22 tackles, two pass breakups, an interception and a forced fumble. The Jets are now 4-2 this season prior to a game at Denver on Sunday.

    Dalton Risner, OL – Denver Broncos
    Making his 53rd-career start, Risner was in for all 58 offensive snaps in Denver’s 19-16 overtime loss at the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night. Risner has seen time on 3,211 of the Broncos’ 3,652 offensive snaps (87.9%) since he began his career in 2019. The Broncos are now 2-4 this season, and they host the New York Jets on Sunday.

    Duke Shelley, DB – Minnesota Vikings
    In his first year in Minnesota, Shelley is on the Vikings’ practice squad. Minnesota earned a 24-16 victory at Miami to improve to 5-1 on the season entering its bye week.

    Kiondre Thomas, CB – Green Bay Packers
    In his first season in Green Bay, Thomas is on the Packers’ practice squad. Green Bay suffered a 27-10 home loss to the New York Jets, and the Packers travel to face Washington on Sunday.

    Skylar Thompson, QB – Miami Dolphins
    Thompson, a seventh-round draft choice in this year’s draft, earned his first-career start in Miami’s 24-16 home loss to Minnesota. He threw for 89 yards on 7-of-13 aim – including a 30-yard completion – and ran once for nine yards prior to an injury that put him out the rest of the contest. In two appearances this year, Thompson is 26-of-46 for 255 yards and an interception for the 3-3 Dolphins, who host Pittsburgh on Sunday night.

    Cody Whitehair, OL – Chicago Bears
    Whitehair, who has made 99 career starts, landed on injured reserve on October 5. Chicago fell to 2-4 on the year after a 12-7 loss to Washington on Thursday night, and the Bears travel to face New England on Sunday.

    Jordan Willis, DL – San Francisco 49ers
    In his sixth NFL season, Willis was placed on injured reserve on September 14. The 49ers lost at Atlanta, 28-14, to fall to 3-3 this season, and they return home to take on Kansas City on Sunday.

    Russ Yeast, S – Los Angeles Rams
    A seventh-round selection in this year’s draft, Yeast carded tackles on kickoff and a punt coverage among his 14 special teams plays to help the Rams to a 24-10 victory over Carolina. LA evened its record at 3-3 this season as the Rams enter their bye week.
