    Segment 4 – 38:45

Tuesday’s edition of In Focus featured Riley County Commission Vice-Chair Kathryn Focke for the county’s monthly update.

Focke started off the program discussing plans for the holiday and looked back at 2022’s highlights — including the selection of new RCPD Dir. Brian Peete.

The middle two segments, Focke recapped Monday’s legislative priorities meeting with area State delegates, including the county’s hopes for action on LAVTR revenue sharing, the ‘dark store theory’ and enshrining home rule for counties in the State constitution. She also discussed progress on Riley County’s new EMS HQ in Manhattan and the North County station in Leonardville.

The last segment we talked county citizen appointment candidates to the Law Board, and Focke gave a shout out to EMS professionals.
