    Segment 4 – 38:31

Thursday’s edition of In Focus featured guests from the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce for the hour.

Chamber President and CEO Jason Smith as well as Convention and Visitors Bureau Exec. Director Karen Hibbard stopped by the studio, starting off talking the successful seasons of K-State and Manhattan High’s football teams as well as the resurgence of meetings and conferences in the area and an update on the search for Hibbard’s successor.

Smith in the middle two segments talked economic development in the region and the need for housing, childcare and developable land to support new business growth. Smith also noted the departure of Military Community Liaison Janet Nichols to the State level, which will serve as an opportunity to evaluate the program as 2023 rolls around.

The show closed with Hibbard highlighting Christmas in the Little Apple and the importance of shopping local.
