The latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association rankings released Tuesday continue to have two Pottawatomie County teams in the top 5 of the 4A Girls poll. Wamego remains number three, Rock Creek is slotted fifth in the class that continues to be lead by Bishop Miege, followed by McPherson.

Manhattan High’s Friday night opponent, Washburn Rural, holds the fifth slot in 6A, with Blue Valley North atop the class. Former Centennial League foe Seaman is the top ranked team in 5A. Goodland leads 3A, Berean Academy is atop 2A and Little River and Hanover are the top teams in the split 1A divisions. Frankfort is ranked ninth in 1A Division 1.

The boys rankings from the KBCA also include Wamego in the top 10 in 4A, ranked seventh in a class lead by McPherson and Bishop Miege. Blue Valley Randolph is ranked seventh 1A Division 1, which has Olpe in the top spot. Greeley County leads the other 1A class.

The other class leaders are Olathe West, who Manhattan fell to at the Hays City Shootout earlier in the season, atop 6A, Highland Park in 5A, Southeast of Saline in 3A and Wichita Independent in 2A. Washburn Rural is the 10th ranked team in 6A ahead of Manhattan’s visit Friday night.
