RCPD reported that 54 year old Jose Torres was arrested following an accident near the intersection of East Marlatt Ave and Brookepointe Circle in Manhattan in March.

Torres was arrested on the charges of Aggravated Battery, Open Container, Failure to stop at an accident, passing with insufficient clearance, and driving with no license. These charges stem from the accident that took place on March 24th.

Torres had left the scene of the accident after his westbound 2007 Chevy van crossed the center line of East Marlatt and collided with 60 year old Jesus Maldonado (Mal-Done-ah-doe).

An open container of alcohol was found in the abandoned van. Torres was issued a 15,000 dollar bond and is no longer in custody.
