The Kansas Board of Regents approved a 5% tuition increase for Kansas State University during their Wednesday meeting.

This decision marks the highest rate increase since 2019 at K-State and the five other public universities in Kansas.

During last month’s meeting, officials from each university proposed 5 to 7 percent increases for the coming school year.

K-State, the University of Kansas, Emporia State University and Pittsburgh State University will all experience the 5% jump. Wichita State University and Fort Hays State University increased tuition by 5.9% and 7%, respectively.

After the 5% increase, a 15 credit hour semester at K-State would cost undergraduate, resident students $4981, a $237 increase from the 2022-2023 school year.
