    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersections of N. Manhattan and Kimball Avenues in Manhattan on July 11, 2023, around 9:30 p.m. After arriving on scene, officers found a 2006 Nissan Sentra driven by Danyel Lane, 19, of Manhattan had been traveling west on Kimball when it rear-ended a 2020 Nissan Sentra driven by William Modesitt, 34, of Manhattan at the intersection. Lane and a passenger in her car, Brooklynn Grogg, 20, of Manhattan were transported to Via Christi for treatment of broken wrist and hand bones. Lane was issued a citation for inattentive driving.

    Michael Nash, 44, of Manhattan was arrested on July 12, 2023, around 8:45 a.m. for six counts of violation of the offender registration act and two counts of aggravated violation of the offender registration act for failing to fulfill required duties for offender registration. Nash remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $50,000.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 800 block of Commons Pl. in Manhattan on July 12, 2023, around 5:15 p.m. Target was listed as the victim when it was reported a 38-year-old woman stole multiple clothing items worth approximately $700. The suspect was then located in the area of the store by responding officers. Katrina Fair, 38, of Manhattan was issued a notice to appear for theft.
