A jury trial began this week for a 39-year-old man accused in an October 2021 incident of attempted first degree murder.

Torrey Lindsay is charged in Riley County District Court with single counts of attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, criminal discharge of a firearm and aggravated intimidation of a witness. Lindsay reportedly fired shots into a vehicle on K-18 as part of a domestic dispute. The victim is a now 35-year-old woman, who sustained minor injuries.

Testimony from the victim was heard Tuesday morning along with two responding RCPD officers. The officers and victim confirmed two shots were fired at the vehicle, one hit the driver side back door, the other shattered glass from the front passenger window. The gun used in the crime was thrown from the car and found nearby on the shoulder near the Ogden exit.

Earlier in the day, the victim testified she was robbed and assaulted during a separate domestic incident in June 2021 at her employer, a Manhattan mobile home community, where she was showing homes to a client. Lindsay is accused of following her in a fit of alleged road rage along Tuttle Creek Blvd, following a breakup. The victim alleges he picked her up, bear hugged her, tying her arm behind her in the process, taking her cell phone. The woman sustained no serious injuries. Lindsay is charged with robbery, aggravated domestic battery and aggravated assault in that case.

The trial will continue on Wednesday morning.
