    K-State ranked #17 in preseason coaches poll

    After finishing with a berth in the Sugar Bowl and with a Big 12 title a season ago, Kansas State opens the coming season ranked 17th in the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Wildcats were slotted behind TCU in the rankings released yesterday, rankings that have Georgia atop the table.

    Michigan, Alabama, Ohio State and LSU round out the top five in the pre-season ballot, with Texas placed 12th as the top ranked Big 12 team going into the year. Oklahoma was placed at number 19, Texas Tech at number 24.

    The Cats open the season Saturday night, September 2nd, at home against Southeast Missouri.
