KDOT resurfacing K-16 in Pottawatomie County

The Kansas Department of Transportation is resurfacing K-16 in Pottawotamie County starting Wednesday, conditions permitting. The project covers from the K-63 junction to K-99 in Blaine, for a total of 19 miles.
The contractor, Dustrol Inc of Towanda, will begin at K-63 with the eastbound lane, and complete to K-99. Once finished, the contractor will return to K-63 and start the westbound lane. The roadway will be reduced to one lane while the work takes place. Traffic will be directed by a pilot driver and flaggers.
The work zone will have a 10-foot width restriction, drivers should plan for up to 15 minute delay. Work will occur Monday through Friday and Saturdays as needed – all during daylight hours. The project will cost $2.7 million, and completion is expected in late September.
KDOT urges motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a work zone. Highway construction projects across Kansas can be viewed at www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
