Manhattan City Commissioners are scheduled for a work session Tuesday night to discuss the city’s five-year strategic plan and 2024 general fund budget.

The General Fund is scheduled to increase by more than $5.8 million to $45.2 million in 2024. It includes over $3.3 million for personnel and over $2.5 million for operations. The projected mill levy is 50.470, a decrease of 1.684 from the previous year.

The city is forecast to levy $35 million in property taxes in fiscal 2024, based on valuation increases. Property taxes are forecast to increase by 6 percent, totaling more than $1.9 million.

The strategic plan shows three actions were substantially completed as of Jan. 1, and 21 actions in progress with city staff and the community.

No action will take place at Tuesday’s work session.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in City Hall.
