Manhattan’s Park and Recreation department is set to release data from surveys handed out to residents in the past few months.
At Monday’s advisory board meeting, Assistant City Manager Jared Wasinger presented the preliminary information from surveys sent to residents in April, starting with how their information is being received by residents, primarily online.
Preliminary results show 88% of respondents said they had visited a park in the past 12 months, 74% had walked or biked on a city trail and 40% had visited the Anthony or Eisenhower Recreation Center. Just 12% responded to having participated in a city sponsored adult athletic program and 20% had participated in a youth athletic program.
Wasinger also says the survey showed residents overwhelmingly favor development of an indoor aquatics center.
A full report on the survey’s findings will be released Thursday and presented to the Manhattan City Commission at their Aug. 15 meeting. Preliminary information is shared below.
