A week after having a 16-game winning streak snapped in a last second loss at Washburn Rural, Manhattan High is back at Bishop Stadium Friday night, hosting Emporia.

The Indians dropped to #5 in the KPreps.com 6A poll this week after falling to now #3 Washburn Rural 35-28 Sept. 22. The Spartans are in search of their first win of the year after being handled by Topeka High last Friday night 39-10.

Coverage on Newsradio KMAN gets underway at 6:30 p.m.

Also Friday night:

Rock Creek at Marysville (B104.7 Carpet One of Manhattan Game of the Week) – The Mustangs fell in a heartbreaker at Silver Lake a week ago to drop to 2-2. Marysville has captured its last two after opening 0-2, including getting hammered 49-0 by Wamego in week two.

Riley County at Sabetha – The Falcons regained their footing a week ago by outlasting Royal Valley by a score, but face the #2 team in Class 2A. The Bluejays are just behind their biggest rival, Nemaha Central, in the rankings as they’ve raced to a 4-0 start.

Wamego at Coffeyville-Field Kindley – It’s a showdown of the top two teams in the 4A Western standings as both squads are 3-1. Wamego blasted KC Washington last Friday 53-6 and Field Kindley shut out Independence 35-0. Each opened with a loss to begin the season and have won their last three.

Blue Valley-Randolph at Axtell – Axtell has won 30 straight games and is again the top team in 8 Man-II. The Rams are 2-2 after a loss to Hanover last week.

Linn at Frankfort – The Wildcats rebounded from a loss to Lyndon by besting Doniphan West last Friday. Linn lost to Axtell last week and has just one win thus far this season.

Scoreboard Saturday, presented by WTC Communications, airs at 8:00 a.m. this week.
