    Curtis Simms Jr, 24, of Manhattan was arrested on September 20, 2023, at around 8:30 a.m. on two Riley County District Court warrants for Probation Violation. Simms was issued a total bond of $100,000 and he remains confined at the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property (domestic-related) in Manhattan at around 10:00 a.m. on September 20, 2023. A 28-year-old woman was listed as the victim when she reported that a person known to her threw a rock at her vehicle. The total loss amount was estimated at around $800.

    Officers filed a report for sexual battery in Manhattan at around 2:00 p.m. on September 20, 2023. A 73-year-old woman was listed as the victim and a 64-year-old man was listed as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 1000 block of Seth Child Rd. in Manhattan on September 20, 2023, at around 6:30 p.m. A 19-year-old woman reported that her iPhone was taken by an unknown person while in the 1000 block of Westloop Pl. in Manhattan. The total loss was estimated at $700. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Using Crime Stoppers allows you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Augustus Sherman Jr, 23, of Houston, TX was arrested on September 20, 2023, at around 9:30 p.m. on a Riley County District Court warrant for burglary of a motor vehicle, two counts of theft, and two counts of criminal damage to property. The charges stem from a 2022 incident in which Sherman was alleged to be involved in the theft of a vehicle and money from an ATM in Manhattan. The total bond was set at $12,000 and he remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

    Teila Masenthin, 36, of Riley was arrested on September 21, 2023, at around 1:00 a.m. on Hayes Dr in Manhattan. Masenthin was contacted by police after a witness reported that her vehicle had been involved in a traffic collision. Masenthin was arrested for driving under the influence, driving while a habitual violator, and transporting an open container of alcohol. Masenthin was transported to the Pottawatomie County Jail where she was held without bond.
