The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a fire of a stolen truck that was found in rural Manhattan on Thursday morning.

Officers were called to the scene at the 5400 block of Blue River Road in rural Manhattan just after 4:10 am on Thursday morning to discover a Ford F150 truck on fire.

A records check of the vehicle found it to be a stolen vehicle that was stolen in the early hours Thursday from Walker and Flush Road in St. George.

The investigation remains on-going and anyone with information is asked to contact Director Kidd at the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office at (785) 457-3353 or reach out to Crime Stoppers.

Further reports say that the vehicle was not involved in an accident and was set on fire intentionally. The vehicle was used to commit criminal damage to property and attempted theft from the Union State Bank ATM in Randolph on Thursday morning at 3:15 am.

The RCPD has opened an investigation into the attempted robbery of the ATM. The damage is an estimated $15,000. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Riley County Police at (785) 537-2112 or contact Crime Stoppers.
