The proclamation that authorized Operation Green Light is one of multiple Veterans Day proclamations that have been acquired by the Flint Hills Veteran’s Coalition from both Riley County and the City of Manhattan.

Operation Green Light serves as the prelude to the Veteran’s Day festivities put on by the coalition. The celebration theme this year is honoring veterans of the Cold War and includes events such as the Veterans Day Parade from Manhattan Town Center to City Hall as well as the Ceremony of Honor at Peace Memorial Auditorium, and Fort Riley Day with Kansas State Athletics.
