    Thanksgiving weekend activities in Manhattan

    There will be plenty to do around Manhattan this Thanksgiving weekend.

    THURSDAY (Thanksgiving)

    *MHK Turkey Trot 5K (9 a.m. to noon) – starting and finishing in Aggieville, with proceeds to benefit the Flint Hills Breadbasket. Race organizer Ben Sigle with Manhattan Running Company says over 1,200 runners have signed up to take part in the eighth annual event.

    *Thanksgiving Community Dinner (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) – Presby Place, 801 Leavenworth Street – FREE

    *Optimist Christmas tree sales open (10 a.m.) at Manhattan’s Optimist Park, 317 Plymate Lane

    FRIDAY (Black Friday)

    *Kansas State University Women’s Basketball vs. Western Kentucky – (10 a.m. on News Radio KMAN)

    *Festival of Lights (7 p.m.) at Blue Earth Plaza

    SATURDAY (Small Business Saturday)

    *Manhattan Farmers Market (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) at 3rd and Leavenworth Street

    *K-State Women’s Basketball on Sunny 102.5 FM (10 a.m. or 4 p.m. TBD)

    *Kansas Holiday Market  (2 p.m. to 8 p.m.) at the Flint Hills Discovery Center

    *Santa’s Luminary Trail (5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.) at Sunset Zoo

    *Kansas State football vs. Iowa State (7 p.m.) at Bill Snyder Family Stadium (airing on News Radio KMAN, 101.5 FM K-Rock and FOX)

    SUNDAY

    Holiday House Tours (noon to 3 p.m.) at participating K-State decorated fraternity and sorority houses. Tickets are $5 and will benefit K-State Proud.
