According to a K-State veterinarian, dogs might be more at risk for canine infectious respiratory disease complex as a repercussion from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The canine infectious respiratory disease complex has been reported in multiple states and is similar in presentation to Kennel Cough. While officials numbers are unknown, cases have appeared in Colorado, New Hampshire, and Oregon:

According to Dr. Orchard, misinformation about this disease has been spread that could lead to harmful repercussions:

Dr. Orchard also discusses the importance of keeping up with pet vaccinations to combat this disease:

While no cases of canine infectious respiratory disease complex have been documented in Kansas, pet owners are encouraged to keep an eye on their pets for unusual behaviors or activities.
