Flint Hills Ventures LLC held a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday for its highly anticipated new warehouse. 1201 Kretschmer Drive will be the home for “Building K.”

The new project is a result of the economic development agreement approved by the city commission to build new speculative industrial warehouse facility.

Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce President and Ceo Jason Smith said the project has been in the works for years…

“We worked with the City, Jason Hilgers, and Ron Fehr and the City Commission to develop an incentive program that ultimately is led to where we are today. And that is the ceremonial groundbreaking for building K.”

The warehouse will be over 112,000 square feet with 40 foot sidewalls that comply with modern standards.

The new facility is aimed at attracting new businesses to Manhattan.

Blake Bauer is one of the owners of Flint Hills Ventures Inc and said…

“We expect this building to be here in the Manhattan community for for many years. And we’re excited to own it and find the right owner to bring to town and and to add to the community.”

The ceremony was attended by government officials, industry partners, and members of the local community.

Construction is expected to be completed in December 2024.
