A Manhattan man is in custody after an apparent attempted child abduction
The Riley County Police Department says officers responded Wednesday afternoon to So Long Saloon in Aggieville. Officers say the suspect, 43-year-old Jonathan Valentine is charged with attempted aggravated kidnapping after witnesses reported him agressively claiming a child did not belong to the child’s guardian. Police say Valentine attempted to forcibly take the 7-month-old, causing a minor injury to the child.
Officers quickly detained him and he remains jailed on a $50,000 bond.
