The Change of Command for the 1st Infantry Division “Danger” is scheduled at the Cavalry Parade Field, Fort Riley, on Friday, at 9:30 a.m.
The outgoing division commander is Maj. Gen. John Meyer and the incoming division commander will be Maj. Gen. Monté Rone.
Lt. Gen. Sean Bernabe, Commanding General of the 3rd Armored Corps, will host the change of command ceremony, as Meyer relinquishes command to Rone.
The Ceremony will bid farewell to Meyer while welcoming Rone and his family to Ft. Riley, and also include a division pass in review followed by a historic cavalry charge from the Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard.
