The application process has come to an close as city officials search for a new city manager following the retirement of Ron Fehr earlier this spring.
City officials noted on KMAN’s In Focus Tuesday morning they have received 44 applications for the vacancy. Now, the process narrows to who will be finalists for the position and ultimately the city commission’s choice on who to hire. Interim City Manager Jason Hilgers projects a potential timeline for when the city could install the new leader.
Hilgers also detailed some of the process so far and what lies ahead.
Mayor Susan Adamchak says she’s excited that the position has drawn so much interest.
The city commission plans to interview potential finalists in late July. If all goes well, the new manager could be in place this fall.
