Some Riley County government offices will start to operate on a new schedule starting on Jul. 1.
At Monday’s county meeting, commissioners agreed to a change on a four-month trial basis that will last from Jul. 1 to Nov. 1.
Overall, the appraiser’s office, the county clerk and election’s office, treasurer and motor vehicles,. planning and development, environmental health, register of deeds, Riley County K-State Extension and community corrections will all be under a new schedule beginning at 7:30 am and open until 5 pm Mondays through Thursdays while being open from 7:30 to noon on Fridays.
This change will not affect all county departments like the county attorney’s office, the district court or public works or the transfer station.
