Portion of Casement Road closes, southern access to North MLK Drive restored

A portion of Casement Road closed for repairs Monday while southern access to North Martin Luther King Dr. Drive reopened to traffic.

The Manhattan street division shut down Casement Road between Allen Road and Dix Drive for concrete panel replacement, and officials expect the closure to remain in place until at least July 26, depending on the weather.

Only local traffic will be able to enter the construction area. Through traffic on Casement Road should divert to Tuttle Creek Boulevard on Allen Road from the north or Casement Road from the south.

The project will involve other temporary closures and detours along Casement Road until it wraps up this summer.

City officials expect light to moderate traffic and some delays on Allen Road, Beck Street, Casement Road and Dix Drive.

City workers reopened access to North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive from the south after it closed last month for sewer repairs on Anderson Avenue.

The wastewater division will keep the southernmost eastbound lane of Anderson Avenue closed as workers continue the project.

City officials expect the lane to reopen next week.
