Westwood Elementary third grade student Grayson Silver recently caught a 42-inch catfish while fishing with his family at Homer’s Pond in Junction City.
Silver has now qualified to receive the Master Angler Award from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
“This fish was really cool. It was as long as me and I am actually getting an award for it, which means I am a professional fisherman. I really like to fish,” said Silver.
