By AJ Shaw on August 6, 2024 Local News, Riley County

Today is Primary Election Day as Kansans will held to the polls to nominate candidates for their party in the Nov. 5 election.

Locally, Riley County only sees three major contested primary contests all on the Republican side of the ballot. In State House District 67, current Riley County Law Board member Kaleb James is facing off with local business develop strategist Angel Roeser. The winner of the race will face off with Democrat Kim Zito in a race to replace retiring incumbent Mike Dodson.

In State House District 51, Eli Kormanik and Megan Steele battle to take on former Manhattan mayor Linda Morse as they look to replace incumbent Kenny Titus who is running for the State Senate.

And in 1st congressional district, incumbent Tracey Mann looks to beat back a challenge from Eric Bloom as he seeks a third term in the US House.

Tune into News Radio KMAN this evening for primary result updates during Royals baseball as well as KMAN’s Morning News tomorrow for final results.
