A Junction City man and former Fort Riley soldier who had been previously arrested and convicted for child sex crimes was arrested over the weekend for violating his probation.

23-year-old Jamichael Strahan was arrested around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation stemming from a charge of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. Strahan has been registered as a sex offender in the state of Kansas since 2022 for those charges.

Strahan was convicted in 2022 for the offenses along with other Fort Riley soldiers after he tried to hook up with an underaged girl who had posed as an adult on a dating app.

Strahan was booked into Riley County Jail on a bond of $25,000 and was no longer confined at the time of this report.
