Oct. 15 is the last day to register for the Nov. 5 general election for anyone in Riley County who has yet to do so.

“Anyone who is new to the community, or college students, high school students, anyone who wants to vote here, please register here in Riley County,” Rich Vargo, the Riley County Clerk, said at Monday’s meeting of the Riley County Commission. “Don’t show up on Election Day and expect to vote if you have not met the voter registration deadline.”

Vargo said advance and mail-in voting will begin on Oct. 16. The last day to send out a mail-in ballot is Oct. 29, because of the mail processes.

More on the story can be read at The Mercury.
