A fire caused a loss of more than $50,000 to a garage on the east side of Manhattan Wednesday morning.
The fire at 2017 Green Ave. started in the 1996 Ford Bronco parked in the detached garage and spread to the rest of the structure. The Manhattan Fire Department dispatched crews a 11:27 a.m., and on arrival they found heavy smoke showing from the garage.
Twelve firefighters on three trucks contained the fire within 10 minutes, and the last units cleared out around 1:30 p.m.
