Local Democratic candidates in the last three months have raised and spent more money campaigning for the state legislature than their Republican opponents, campaign finance reports show
Democratic state Sen. Usha Reddi has a substantial fundraising advantage over Republican challenger Brad Starnes.
Reddi raised $63,283.23 between July 26 and Oct. 24 in her quest to retain the District 22 seat, bringing her cash on hand — which is total contributions minus total expenditures — to $35,462 after spending $82,934.27 during that period.
