The Bluemont and 4th Street roundabout in Manhattan saw the most accidents in the 3rd quarter of this year, which is between Jul. 1 and Sept. 30. In total, eight accidents occurred at that roundabout during that time frame, while the intersection at Tuttle Creek Boulevard and McCall Road saw seven accidents.
The intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Fort Riley Boulevard, Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Kimball Avenue, Seth Child Road and Anderson Avenue, Fort Riley Boulevard and S. Delaware Avenue and Tuttle Creek Boulevard and E. Poyntz Avenue saw five or more crashes during the quarter.
In 2024, Fort Riley Boulevard has been the hot bed for most accidents in Manhattan. In Quarter 2, which spanned Apr. 1 through Jun. 30, seven crashes occurred at the intersection with U.S. 24 and five crashes occurred at the intersection with Rosencutter Road. In Quarter 1 which spanned Jan. 1 through Mar. 31, there were four accidents at the intersection of Fort Riley Boulevard and 3rd street.
RCPD reports that 55% of accidents reported during Quarter 3 occurred between noon and 7 p.m with the most accidents occurring on a Thursday at 48. The department says most crashes occurred between 3 and 4 p.m.
