Attendees honored the dead and celebrated the living during a Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, event at K-State this weekend.

The two-day event was hosted by the K-State Student Union Program Council, or UPC, and featured sugar skull decorating, kite decorating, face painting, live mariachi music, folkloric dancers and snacks.

Attendees had the option to create their own altars, called ofrendas, where they could include candles, pictures, messages, artwork and more.
