A Manhattan man was injured in a single-vehicle accident just after 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Saline County, Kansas.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Jeffrey Lee Sims, 50, of Manhattan, was driving a 2020 Kia Sportage westbound in the 1600 block of West State Street. The vehicle veered off the south side of the road and into a ditch. It continued along the embankment, eventually leaving the edge of a ravine and coming to rest in a creek.

Emergency Medical Services transported Sims to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment. Authorities noted that Sims was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
