Two injured in Sunday accident on I-70 in Geary County

Two Junction City residents were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries following a Sunday evening crash in Geary County.

The accident occurred just after 6:30 p.m. on I-70 near milepost 306.7 when a 2019 Freightliner semitruck driven by a 37-year-old Sukhrob Dastanov of Mason, Ohio lost control of the truck due to the heavy rain. He then crossed the median into the eastbound lane side swiping a 2015 GMC Terrain driven by 25-year-old Jalen Williams-Flanigan causing him to veer right into the North ditch striking an enbankment and then rolling over one time before coming to a stop.

Williams-Flanigan and his passenger Endia McNeal, 30, were both transported to Stormont Vail in Junction City for suspected minor injuries. Dastanov and his passenger were not injured in the collision. All four occupants of the two vehicles were properly restrained at the time of the collision.
