The Riley County Police Department is investigating two shootings that occurred on Saturday and Sunday that officers believe are linked to one another.
The shootings led to four individuals being wounded according to police. The first shooting occurred on Saturday evening just before 8 p.m. in the 2000 block of College Heights Road.
Officers responded to the scene to find a 23-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Ascension Via Christi for what officers are describing as non-life-threatening injuries.
The second shooting incident occurred early Sunday morning in the 1800 block of Claflin Road just before 6 a.m. Officers responded to the scene to find three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. All of the victims were transported to Via Christi for non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers have been at the scene all day on Sunday pursuing leads and finding evidence. They believe both shootings are linked to one another. Officers do believe there is no active threat to the public at this time.
The investigation remains on-going at this time and RCPD is encouraging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers. More details will emerge as they become available.
