    Area home sales decreased in December; prices increased

    According to the Flint Hills Association of Realtors, there were 103 home sales averaging $284,742 in the Manhattan-Junction City Combined Statistical Area in December after there were 128 sales averaging $282,561 in November.

    The number of December sales was equal to that of December 2023 in Riley, Pottawatomie and Geary counties.

    Ninety-three of the units sold in December were existing homes, a 4.1% from the 97 existing homes sold in December 2023. The average price this December was $285,943, a 19.4% increase from the average price of $239,405 in December 2023.
