The Manhattan Regional Airport’s nearly $3 million project to build new hangars is complete.
The Manhattan City Commission in March approved a contract with Icon Structures to build six bay box hangers and two bay box hangers at the airport using a Federal Aviation Administration grant to cover 90% of the cost, with the Build Kansas Fund providing $282,000 in matching funds. State officials on Thursday announced that work is done.
“I am extremely thankful that the Manhattan Regional Airport was selected for a grant through the Build Kansas Fund,” said airport director Brandon Keazer in a written statement. “Receiving this grant allowed the airport to move forward with building eight new hangars – a first in over two decades.”
