Construction of a new cattle facility at K-State will begin next year.

The Kansas Board of Regents on Wednesday approved the timeline for the Beef Cattle Research Center facility to replace the feedlot on College Avenue that’s no longer in operation.

Formerly known as the Feedlot project, the previously approved facility will consist of a feedlot for teaching and research, a metabolism research barn and a feed mill. The building will be north of the K-State campus and designed to have capacity for 1,200 animals in 120 pens holding 10 animals each.

The full story can be read at The Mercury.
