Two St. Mary’s residents were injured in an accident in Jackson County that occurred on Wednesday evening.

The accident occurred just after 6 p.m. on US-75 when a 2017 GMC Acadia was traveling westbound on 158th Road and failed yield the right of way to a 2007 Chrysler Town & County that was traveling southbound driven by 56-year-old Larry Vanvleck of St. Mary’s.

The driver of the Acadia, 83-year-old Maria Flores of Eagle Pass, Texas, was injured in the accident along with two others who were both seriously injured. The passengers in the SUV were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
