The only federal funds USD 383 receives that have been frozen are come from the Department of Defense Educational Activity, a grant program that supports education of K-12 children from military families. Those dollars were a significant funding source for Summer STEM, and not having them may affect the program this year.
STARBASE, a partner in Summer STEM, suspended operations earlier this month because of a funding shortage.
