The ball didn’t bounce the Manhattan High boys’ basketball’s way down the stretch in a back-and-forth battle against Hayden, as the Indians fell 54-51 on Monday night.
MHS (6-11) was coming off an overtime win against Topeka High on Friday and looked to put together consecutive wins for the first time this season but fell just short, falling to 3-4 in league play and splitting its season series with Hayden.
“I thought we got stagnant, our sharing of the ball and moving the ball wasn’t as good,” head coach Benji George said. “And that ultimately, was probably the difference in the game.”
Junior Noah McFadden and senior Landon Knopp were the lone Indians in double-figures with 14 and 12, respectively. Hayden’s Carter Compton led all scorers with 19 points.
