Manhattan High girls’ basketball upset Hayden, the No. 1 team in the state in Class 4A, after leading from start to finish in an all-around impressive 50-47 win on Tuesday.

The Indians (11-6, 4-3) came off consecutive losses for the first time this season and had a tall task ahead with Hayden, but proved to not be fazed by the opponent.

“They didn’t feel good about how things went the last two games, and I kept telling them ‘I know we’re better than that,’” head coach Scott Mall said. “They just came out, things went well for us right from the start, that’s always big.”

Manhattan was led by its trio of guards in sophomore Bailey Busch with 15 points, junior Kat Ball with 11 and junior Delaney Larson with nine.
