Jacob Thompson, 27, pleaded guilty in February to charges of kidnapping, aggravated battery and sexual battery, all against the same 21-year old woman with whom he shares 2 children. He was arrested for the charges in January 2024 in Junction City.

Thompson appeared in person in the custody of Riley County Jail alongside his attorney, Joshua Seiden, to hear his sentencing from Judge Grant Bannister. Bannister ordered he serve consecutive sentences of 8 years 11 months for kidnapping and 2 years 10 months for aggravated battery. Thompson is also ordered to serve a concurrent sentence of one year for the charge of sexual battery.

Consecutive sentences are served one after the other, while concurrent sentences take place at the same time.
