    MANHATTAN, KS — The Riley County Police Department reported five arrests over the weekend, according to the department’s latest media arrest summary released Sunday morning.

    Among those detained was 32-year-old Javontae Dashon Darby of Manhattan, who was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. on May 18. Darby faces charges of shoplifting items valued under $1,500 and possessing tools to remove theft detection devices. He remains confined at the Riley County Jail with a bond set at $3,000.

    Police also arrested 18-year-old Jaeleon Malachi Jefford on the evening of May 17 on a warrant. Jefford is charged with aggravated battery and aggravated robbery, both involving bodily harm. He is currently in custody on a $60,000 bond.

    Conner Wayne Bruce, 21, was arrested earlier that afternoon in connection with the theft of a firearm valued under $25,000. Bruce remains confined, and his bond is set at $4,000.

    Additionally, 20-year-old Emily Grace Taylor was arrested on the morning of May 17 for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. She was not confined at the time of the report and had a bond set at $750.

    All cases are still under investigation, and charges may be subject to change. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
