Forecasters say an intense upper level disturbance will move through the region today, resulting in another a stormy afternoon and evening.
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has the Manhattan area in an enhanced (level 3) risk for severe weather. The best chances for thunderstorms will develop across northeast and east central Kansas, with all severe weather hazards possible, including large hail, damaging winds and even tornadoes.
Storms could fire in the Manhattan area as early as 2 p.m., and last until late tonight.
