Several incidents and arrests were reported by the RCPD on June 13 and 14, 2025.

Officers responded to a variety of calls, including two non-injury accidents, a burglary at a Northview Drive residence, and a past rape report on Leavenworth Street. A battery incident at Green Tea Sushi in the early hours of June 14 and a report of shots heard on Platt Street were also among the more serious cases documented. Other incidents included a stolen vehicle from Lewis Automotive Group on Tuttle Creek Boulevard, a weapons violation on Colorado Street, and a criminal trespass at the Super 8 Motel on Tuttle Creek Boulevard.

Arrests included Jaron Taitano, 37, of Manhattan, who was taken into custody on charges of aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, criminal restraint, and child abuse. He remains confined in the Riley County Jail on a $75,000 bond. Evelyn Pittman, 36, was arrested for domestic battery and later released. Shaun Troyer, 55, of Leonardville, was arrested on a warrant for domestic battery and failure to appear, with a total bond set at $2,500. Donte Long, 24, of Manhattan, was arrested for criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and remains jailed on a $5,000 bond.

Riley County Police also took two individuals into custody on out-of-county warrants. Crystal Cummings, 46, of Topeka, was arrested in Shawnee County for a probation violation, while Zane Stephens, 18, of Goessel, was arrested in Harvey County for failure to appear.
